First Class Relic of Saint John Paul II arrives in Panama

The first class relic of St. John Paul II arrived at the Tocumen International Airport, Friday, 18th of January, 2019.

It was given to the Archbishop of Panama, Monsignor José Domingo Ulloa Mendieta O.S.A. by the Archbishop of Krakow, Monsignor Marek Jedraszewski, in the chapel located in the airport terminal.

The relic consists of a vial with the blood of the founder of World Youth Day that will remain in the new altar of the Cathedral Basilica Santa María la Antigua in Panama City. The altar will be consecrated by Pope Francis in an unprecedented act in the history of the universal Church.
