Panama City, September 27th, 2018. Journalists from around the world can already receive their accreditation to cover World Youth Day which will take place in Panama City from the 22nd to the 27th of January, 2019.
For the first time in the history of World Youth Day, the Local Organizing Committee has opened a module for national and international press to register themselves within the same framework that the pilgrims, volunteers, and bishops register: www.panama2019.pa.
Edilma del Carmen Lezcano, Coordinator of Press Registration of the Local Organizing Committee of WYD, explained that registering is a simple process, available in four languages: Spanish, English, Italian, and French. A step by step guide will also be available.
This module is one of the innovation of WYD, following the standards set by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family, and Life with strict adherence to international standards of data use and information management.
When registering online, the journalists can specify which events with the Holy Father they wish to cover. After they send in their information and the requested documents, there will be a phase to verify the data which ends with a confirmation that they have been approved and duly accredited to cover WYD Panama 2019.
Press registration will close on November 30th, 2018.
